Landolt "C" eye charts, also known as Broken Ring Charts and Landolt Ring Charts, are considered the "Gold Standard" in alternative vision tests. Landolt "C" vision tests use only one optotype, the letter C. The C is place in eight different positions throughout the chart including up, down, left, right, and 45 degree positions. By using only the one letter, the test is easy to use and is helpful for testing mute, illiterate or different language speaking patients.
