Contrast Sensitivity charts are an invaluable part of accurate vision testing. Contrast vision should be tested on a regular basis in conjunction with regular acuity vision exams. The combination of acuity and contrast vision are necessary for proper vision. By testing contrast vision at routine eye exams, an accurate record of normal contrast vision for each patient can be taken, since each patient may see slightly differently. Furthermore, routine testing can lead to earlier detection of symptoms of many different diseases.
