PV Numbers are an alternative to traditional Sloan and Snellen vision charts. PV Numbers charts provide a universal vision test. Patients that are not familiar with the Roman alphabet often have fewer charts to be tested. However, PV Numbers are calibrated to Sloan letters and are an accurate equivalent to those traditional eye tests and have different arrangements of numbers to help prevent memorization.
