HOTV optotypes are great for testing pediatrics and illiterate adults. The use of only four easily recognizable optotypes makes it so even children that are preliterate can be easily taught the letters and can respond with the use of the response key and flash cards. HOTV optotypes are useful for testing children 3-5 years in age.
