Contrast Sensitivity is a major part of normal vision. Along with normal acuity, contrast vision makes everyday tasks easier to accomplish. Driving, reading, and even navigating normal situations would be difficult and nearly impossible. Distinguishing different objects from one another, like a curb from the sidewalk, would not be possible. Contrast sensitivity is just as important as acuity and should be tested on a regular basis.
