The modified charts for “European-wide use” contain (Sloan) letters used in all European alphabets (Latin, Greek, Cyrillic), offering the advantage of containing letters recognizable by a wider population basis, such as European citizens, as well as subjects from countries using the Cyrillic alphabet At the same time, they remain faithful to the format thus ensuring adherence to the gold standards of visual acuity measurement.
The modified charts for “European-wide use” facilitate patient data exchange between doctors and clinics, securing validity of visual acuity screening among all EU population.
More specifically, the Sloan letters C, D, N, R, S, V, and Z in the revised ETDRS charts were substituted with E, P, X, B, T, M, and A, respectively. The new letters were constructed to the specifications of Sloan letters.
These charts are for measuring both near (33cm) and intermediate (66cm) visual acuity. Mixed contrast with high contrast on side 1 and side 2 containing 20% Weber (10% Michelson) contrast levels.
Attached cord assures accurate testing distances. Chart measures 7″ x 9″.
