Precision Vision’s Role in ETDRS

Precision Vision was relied upon to develop the first commercially viable trans-illuminated charts and cabinets for the original ETDRS study. Today, these products are still considered the world standard used in research, education and clinical settings everywhere.  Although materials and components have changed over the years Precision Vision makes sure the luminance level and uniformity of light distribution of their ETDRS Charts and ETDRS Illuminator Cabinets® remains a constant.

We’re deeply proud of our role in the eye care profession, past and present. Our commitment to producing the best in class vision testing tools is never ending and rewarded with continued support and new challenges.

Bailey-Lovie Eye Chart Set

The Bailey-Lovie Eye chart format was chosen for the original ETDRS study with the utilization of Louise Sloan, Phd’s optotypes.  This combination has brought us the ETDRS format we know today as the ETDRS format, the “Gold Standard”.
